About the Degree

Masters in Technology Ethics:

This degree provides scientists and engineers with the ethical framework necessary to address the challenges in ethics and technology that require an interdisciplinary approach, particularly one rooted in the integration of faith and reason. With a focus on the teachings of the Church and the latest ethical research with emerging technologies, this program aligns moral laws with scientific principles, ensuring the dignity of the human person is upheld.

With new technologies constantly being developed, it is essential for Catholics to have a voice in ensuring ethical and moral considerations are present throughout the entire development of a new technology—from design to commercialization. This program will prepare professionals to become leaders who can develop solutions that will not only advance technology but also uphold the moral teachings of the church. With courses in the areas of ethical frameworks, specialized technologies, and sustainable business ethics, from an academic institution in the heart of the Catholic Church, this program ensures the intersection of ethics and technology informed by faith and reason.

Admission Criteria

This program is designed for students with prior background in science, engineering or other technical fields. It is specifically designed for researchers, industry professionals and policymakers who wish to study and apply ethical principles to their current career fields.

Admission Requirements:

BS, MS or PhD in Science, Engineering or Related Technical Field
Work experience in research, policy, industry or entrepreneurship
A desire to explore ethical principles and apply them to real-world challenges in their professional practice.
