Fr. Maurice Agbaw-Ebai, Professor of Theology and Philosophy at CatholicTech, recently had new article published: Joseph Ratzinger and Cultural Dynamisms: Insights for the Renewal of the Techno-Scientific Culture.

Fr. Maurice explores how Western culture, shaped by Enlightenment values and secular rationality, has increasingly distanced itself from its religious roots. While religion was originally central to culture, the rise of the techno-scientific worldview has led to the privatization of faith and a public sphere dominated by secularism. Drawing on Ratzinger’s 1993 address in Hong Kong, Fr. Maurice argues that sidelining religion results in a spiritually and existentially impoverished culture.
