Happy Birthday to CatholicTech

Campus Life Update
Buon compleanno, happy birthday! To any of you who have birthdays today, but mainly to CatholicTech. On the eighth of June, CatholicTech campus and board members convened for an evening Mass and meal. This special Pentecost Sunday marked the feast of our patroness, Our Lady Seat of Wisdom, and the first anniversary of CatholicTech’s founding. Father Maurice Agbaw-Ebai delivered a poignant homily in Mass, after which attendees enjoyed a dinner catered by La Scarpetta in the dining room. Everyone partook of drinks and dessert with a rooftop view while listening to heartfelt speeches and live music. A memorable moment in the festivities was the unveiling of a cake topped with CatholicTech’s mascot, Mike the Astronaut.

This final week before a summer break was an ideal time for exploration. One student went to the Papal Gardens to gaze at numerous beautiful flowers. A group visited Ostia Antica to discover the ancient ruins pf an entire city. Crumbling stones were the only remains of theaters, bath houses, and markets, and were tangible proof of a Roman metropolis. Taking full advantage of the endless opportunities life at CatholicTech offers, students attended a Papal audience on Wednesday. These students weaved through the crowd to get close to Pope Leo, and received a close-up view of a blessing of newlyweds.
On campus, however, things are quiet as people disperse for their summer breaks. We look back on this past week with gratitude, and look forward to many exciting events ahead! Thank you for joining us and following along during our inaugural year at CatholicTech!
