Thanksgiving in Italy

This Thanksgiving, the CatholicTech community enjoyed many festivities! With the final day of classes on Wednesday, students and faculty flocked to prepare for the holiday on Thursday. On Thanksgiving morning, a delegation from Castel Gandolfo rose early and partook in the North American Pontifical College’s annual “Turkey Trot,” which proved to be a most enjoyable experience. The 5 km run completely circumnavigates the sovereign city-state of the Vatican; the early morning mist and chill, coupled with the scenic route and the arduous run made for a very memorable and fun way to kick off thanksgiving day! CatholicTech’s students and faculty then enjoyed traditional American brunch before visiting the Saint Peter’s Basilica, ascending to the cupola and dome, and visiting numerous churches and stores throughout the city.
Back on campus, preparations were well underway for the great thanksgiving feast, which drew all of the CatholicTech community, as well as many friends, together for a hearty and proper meal. The fun lasted well into the evening with games, fun, friendship and fine foods! The night proved to be supremely successful and a great way to celebrate the end of classes, something many students no doubt are quite thankful for! This Thanksgiving, CatholicTech and its family has much to be thankful for, such as the pleasant weather, the joyful and rich community, and many more graces that God has bestowed so freely upon us! From all of CatholicTech, Happy Thanksgiving!
